PMA Honours Dr. Seemin Jamali

KARACHI-Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Karachi  organized an appreciation  program in honor of the  Executive Director , Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Dr. Seemin Jamali, for the services rendered & congratulate her on receiving a TAMGHA-E-IMTIAZ for her valuable services in the field of medicine at PMA House.

On this occasion, CEO, Sindh HealthCare Commission, Dr. Minhaj Qidwai, stated that, Dr. Seemin Jamali is a true role model for Pakistani women, particularly young female doctors.

Head of Radiology Department, JPMC, Prof Tariq Mehmood said that, all departments of JPMC including Accident & Emergency Department, Gynecology and others were  upgraded under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Seemin Jamali. He added that, she is a brave lady who handled crises like situations intelligently.

Senior Journalist, Waqar Bhatti added that,  Dr. Jamali has always been ready to resolve public health issues and strongly believes in good working relations with journalists.

Prof Dr. A.R Jamali, husband of Dr. Seemin Jamali, expressed his proud feelings for his wife’s achievements. He said that through her hard work, dedication and teamwork, she made JPMC’s hospital touch new heights.

Chairman, SHCC Prof Syed Tipu Sultan stated that, running an Accident & Emergency Department round the clock in a city like Karachi is itself a huge achievement. She has established Pakistan’s best Emergency Department with advance equipment, catering a high score of patients, annually.

General Secretary PMA Centre Dr. SM Qaisar Sajjad said that, Dr. Seemin Jamali achieved various targets during her 29 year long service in the medical field. He informed that approximately 1500 emergency patients are being treated each day at the Emergency Department of JPMC.

Chief Guest, Executive Director, Dr. Seemin Jamali thanked the Pakistan Medical Association, Karachi, for organizing the program in her honor. She expressed immense gratitude towards her family and husband, for supporting her through out her services.

The ceremony was attended by various personnel from Karachi’s Medical Fraternity. The welcome address was delivered by President PMA, Karachi, Dr. Khalil Mukaddam. The speakers shared their views on Dr. Seemin Jamali’s success; and greeted her for achieving such a prestigious award from the Government of Pakistan.

Among the speakers were: Chairman, Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) Prof Syed Tipu Sultan, CEO  SHCC, Dr. Minhaj Qidwai, General Secretary PMA Centre Dr. SM Qaisar Sajjad, Prof Dr Tariq Mehmood, Dr. Safia Zafar,  Dr. AR Jamali, Senator Dr. Karim Khwaja  and others. General Secretary, PMA, Karachi Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Shoro presented the vote of thanks at the end of the ceremony. Memorial shields were distributed amongst the honorable speakers and group photos were taken with the esteemed chief guest.
