KARACHI: Nine more COVID-19 patients passed away recently, bringing the death toll to 8,009, and 1,013 new cases were uncovered during 16,133 tests.
Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, reported that nine more COVID-19 patients have died, bringing the total to 8,009, or a mortality rate of 1.4 per cent. A total of 16,133 samples was examined, yielding a detection rate of 1,013 cases, or 6.3 per cent. 90.8 per cent of the 507,349 patients who have been diagnosed with the disease have been able to return to their normal lives after undergoing 7,793,133 tests.
Currently, 43,313 individuals are receiving treatment; 43,041 of them were in home isolation, 16 were in isolation facilities, and 256 were in separate hospitals. He also reported that 231 patients were in serious condition, including 20 who had been placed on ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 1,013 new cases, 438 have been detected from Karachi. According to district wise statistics, Hyderabad had 326, District South, Karachi, 167, District Malir had 154, District East, Karachi, had 52, Tharparkar 29, Sukkar 27, District Korangi 25, Jacobabad and District Central, Karachi, 24 each, Ghotki 18, District West Karachi 16, Sanghar 14, Thatto, Tando Allahyar & Sujawal 13 each, Tando Muhammad Khan 12, Larkana & Matiari 11 each, Badin and Mirpurkhas 9 each, Khairpur & Jam Shoro 8 each, Kashmore 7, Shikarpur 6, Qambar and Umarkot 5 each, Nawab Shah 3, Dadu and Noushehro Feroz had one each new COVID-19 case.
