Karachi: Officials of the city’s Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), South Zone, during their raid on Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) apprehended an employee of the hospital on the charges of selling medicines to private medical stores.
During the raid conducted under the supervision of ACE South Zone’s assistant director Abdul Jabbar Kaimkhani, a ward boy of CHK, identified as Habib-ur-Rehman , was caught red-handed in the presence of some witnesses, near Baldia Town’s MashaAllah Clinic.
The medicines recovered from his bag included fortazim (IG), injections Benzim (40mg), Clavox (100mg), Clavox (500mg) and Diclozaf (75mg) were seized as Sindh government stamp of `not for sale’ was affixed on them.
During preliminary investigations, the accused reportedly informed the raiding party that the CHK’s storekeeper had provided him these medicines for selling at some private medical stores and the racket was going on for the last three years.
An FIR has been lodged against the accused and further investigations are underway, the sources added.
