ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) provided life-saving pharmaceuticals worth Rs160 million to Afghanistan recently, as the country faces rising economic, health, and humanitarian challenges that threaten millions of people.
The drugs were supplied in collaboration with the Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum in response to a request made by the Health Minister of Afghanistan during his visit to Islamabad.
At a ceremony held in Islamabad, the medicines were handed over in over ten trucks to Sardar Ahmed Khan Shakeeb, Charge d'Affaires, Embassy of Afghanistan. Qazi Mansoor Dilawar, Chairman, PPMA, as well as Habibullah, Chairman, Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum, Usman Shaukat, Aman Shaikh, and Arshad Mahmood, were also present.
According to Qazi Mansoor Dilawar, the association pledged to send pharmaceuticals worth Rs100 million last month but fortunately managed to collect Rs160 million.
