KARACHI: House Officers at Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) staged a protest against a stipend of PKR 25,000.
According to the sources, the House Officers of JMDC demanded an increase in the stipend, but their request was rejected, and they staged a peaceful protest.
Jinnah Medical and Dental College was inaugurated in 1998 in Karachi, Pakistan. The first class of medical professionals, including doctors and dentists, graduated from JMDC in 2003 and 2004, while the first class of pharmacists graduated in 2009.
Graduates can earn degrees such as an MBBS, BDS, or pharm-D from the JSMU associated with the college. The USMLE (ECFMG) and the PLAB are two of the international exams that JMDC former students are eligible to take.
So far, JMDC students have performed exceptionally well on the University of Karachi's Professional Examinations, achieving 578 distinctions in MBBS subjects and 348 distinctions in BDS subjects. The Pakistan Medical Commission also recognises it.
