Nursing college planned in Upper Chitral

PESHAWAR: A meeting chaired by Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Suriyya Bibi, discussed plans to establish a Nursing College in Upper Chitral, with classes set to begin in the 2024-25 academic year. 
The meeting also explored acquiring a rented building to start the sessions.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the health, communication and works departments, Health Services Academy, and the district health office. 
The officials informed the meeting that the district health authorities and the Upper Chitral Deputy Commissioner’s office are working to identify a suitable location for the college.
It was noted that the process is expected to be completed by 31 October 2024, after which the PC-1 and relevant documents will be submitted to the health department. 
The executive engineer from the works department is also set to provide a report and recommendations on installing a lift and solar power system in the building.
Deputy Speaker Suriyya Bibi stressed the need to complete the project within the stipulated time frame, addressing the long-standing demand of Upper Chitral's residents for a nursing college.
