KARACHI: The vaccine workers of Sindh recently tried to march towards the Chief Minister's House to press the government to restore vaccinators and up-gradation of their posts; however, law enforcement agencies (LEA) stopped protesters from moving ahead at Polo Ground.
Many vaccinators from Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur and other small cities participated in the march. The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with various slogans like restore the 336 vaccinators, upgrade their posts and time scale for vaccinators.
The protesting vaccinators chanted slogans against secretary health, health minister and chief minister Sindh for restoring vaccinators on their posts and neglecting the genuine demands of vaccinators. The vaccinators already announced the boycott of the measles and rubella vaccination campaign started on Monday and will end on 27 November.
The vaccinators vowed to continue protest and boycott of duties till restoration of vaccinators, time scale and up-gradation of their posts.
