IUB Observes World Diabetes Day

BAHAWALPUR: A seminar was organized at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.

Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of IUB, chaired the seminar. Prof Dr Haji Muhammad Shoaib, Prof Dr Munir Azhar, Chairman Department of HND, and Dr Arshad Javed from South Africa spoke on occasion.

The participants said that November 14 is celebrated around the world as World Diabetes Day. The rising rate of diabetes in Pakistan is a significant obstacle to Pakistan's development, and the main reason for its spread is lack of awareness. IUB Health and Safety Society also organized a free diabetes screening camp in collaboration with a local pharmacy.
