DUHS conducts thousands of tests without charges

KARACHI: The capacity for corona testing per day of the Dow University of Health Science is 1000. All test samples are conducted free of cost, the costs of which are covered by the Government of Sindh.

A spokesperson of the Dow University of Health Sciences noted that the DUHS Ojha Campus provides 250 corona test tokens on a first-come, first-serve basis free of charge. The samples obtained by various teams of the Sindh Health Department in the emergency are also provided to the Dow Lab.

No service charges of any kind or supplementary charges are applicable at any stage of the testing.

The DUHS representative said that people should refrain from paying any additional charges that guarantee early or prompt testing. All matters regarding COVID-19 are being looked after by the Sindh Health Department. The Sindh government is paying the cost of the test.

The official further noted that the DUHS is taking additional steps as a national service to address the global COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, the DUHS research team has also developed an intravenous immunoglobulin (intravenous injection) to treat corona is ready. All the concerned departments have approved clinical trials for the treatment modality.
