KARACHI: The Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, recently stated that as many as five medical centres, five hospitals, and 42 dispensaries have been providing better health care facilities to the workers and their families employed by the Sindh Labour Department.
A 25-bed hospital has been established in the SITE area of Sukkur, and a 25-bed hospital in Dharki is under completion. He said this while presiding over a recent meeting in his office. Secretary Labour, Abdul Rasheed Solangi, and other officers also attended the meeting.
He added that the new buildings of the Madina Dispensary SITE Karachi, Social Security Sukkur Dispensary, and Shaheed Benazirabad Dispensary, had been constructed and these measures would benefit the workers and their families too. The meeting was informed that as many as 833 death grant cheques, 2244 marriage cheques, and 1027 scholarship cheques had been distributed, while a solar power system had been installed in all Workers Welfare Schools and Colleges.
Secretary Labour, Abdul Rasheed Solangi, further told the meeting that as many as 1024 flats at Sukkur, 512 flats at Shaheed Benazirabad, 96 flats at Larkana, 1504 flats at Hyderabad, 512 flats at Kotri, 192 flats at Nooriabad, 74 houses at Jacobabad, and 100 houses at Ranipur had been completed and were ready to be allotted to the workers.
The Sindh Minister for Labour, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, assured that the Sindh Government was talking all measures necessary to facilitate the workers and their families with respect to health, education, housing, and safety.
