KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has closed the city's largest COVID-19 vaccination centre and also issued instructions to close the field isolation centre.
Sindh Health Department has shut down the mega vaccination centre at the Expo Center following a decrease in COVID-19 cases in the city and a reduction in a rush of citizens at the vaccination centre.
On the instructions of the Sindh Health Department, Director Health Karachi has issued a notification in this regard. Dr Akram Sultan, Director, Sindh Health Department, said that a large number of citizens have already completed vaccination.
The mega vaccination centre has been closed on the Sindh Health Department's instructions. The field isolation centre at the expo centre is also being closed due to a decrease in corona cases.
According to the statistics issued by the Sindh Health Department, more than 62 per cent of the population of the province has been fully vaccinated, i.e. they have been given both doses, and more than 88 per cent of the population has been given one dose of vaccine.
According to statistics, 2.5 per cent of the population has also received booster shots. There are 3.9 million children over the age of 12 who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
