Punjab Food Authority disposes goods worth millions of rupees

LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) dumped millions of rupees worth of contaminated materials at the Babu Sabu dump site of the Lahore Waste Management Company, in accordance with its eco-friendly policy.

The confiscated items were disposed of in the presence of PFA Shoaib Khan Jadoon, General Director, The PFA discarded 279,460 litres of counterfeit beverages, 55,000 empty bottles, 8,000 kilograms of tainted ketchup, 5,000 kilograms of purported desi ghee, 4,000 kilograms of Pringles, 5,000 coffee cartons, and 800 kg of counterfeit labels. Additionally, the authorities discarded five metric tons of corn, two metric tons of cake gel, and 150 cartons of fruit cans. The PFA director general stated that all waste materials were seized by Lahore operative teams during various searches.
