SIUT’s programme hugely popular among students

KARACHI- Eminent urologist and director of Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Prof Adibul Hassan Rizvi said here that the SIUT’s students’ volunteer programme was designed to help them learn and understand the problems and sufferings of fellow human beings which not only brings a positive change in their outlook in life, but also benefit the entire society. 

He was speaking at a ceremony held to award certificates to the participants of SIUT students’ volunteer programme’s 40th batch. It was largely attended by students and their parents.

Highlighting the importance of the programme, Prof Rizvi said that said that students during their week-long training are apprised of the guidelines of patient medical care in the field of radiology, clinical laboratory, dialysis, transplantation, lithotripsy and other medical, surgical and allied services.

“The importance of community service in the society cannot be emphasized enough as it not only refines the person, but also provides direction and sense of purpose,” Dr Rizvi remarked, saying that the students’ volunteer programme has been designed for the youths as they are the real future of Pakistan.

The SIUT’s training programme that has become its annual feature is hugely popular among student community of the metropolis as they are taught core principles of community service during the training.
