In Less Than Six Months - Dengue fever cases jump to 438 in Karachi

KARACHI- The number of patients afflicted with dengue viral fever has soared to 438 in less than six months of the current year (2015) as 49 more cases of the disease have been detected in the city last week.

According to a report of Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Programme, 49 more dengue fever cases have been reported in just one week from different parts of the city, thereby raising the number of dengue patients to 438 in the metropolis.

Of the total 451 dengue fever cases reported in Sindh province since January 2015, 438 were detected in Karachi, while remaining cases were reported from other parts of the province, the report said, adding that a child suffering from the disease had also expired this year.
