JSMU opens digital IT lab at Valika Campus

KARACHI: The Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) has announced that its Valika Campus in Metroville SITE area has been made fully operational with the recent inauguration of a state-of-the-art digital computer lab by Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon.

The new IT lab offers advanced technological resources for students, particularly those enrolled in the nursing program. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities, the lab is designed to enhance learning, support examinations, and foster research, providing students with the tools they need to excel academically.

VC Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon emphasized the lab’s role in modernizing healthcare education at JSMU, acknowledging the efforts of Mr. Aurangzeb, Director of Information Technology at the varsity, who played a pivotal role in the successful establishment of this high-tech facility.

During his visit, Prof Memon shared his vision for the Valika Campus, saying it will offer the same high-quality amenities available at the main campus, including a skills lab, modern equipment, high-speed internet, e-library facilities, and hostel accommodations, all aimed at creating an optimal learning environment for students.

The VC also toured the campus, inspecting the hostel and other facilities, expressing satisfaction with the campus’s readiness. He urged the campus engineer to expedite the remaining work and commended Director IONAM, Ms Rubina Hafeez, for bringing swift and effective improvements to the campus since assuming her role.

The inauguration of the IT lab at Valika Campus was termed a significant development at JSMU that would improve healthcare education in Pakistan.

With the campus now fully operational, students have access to the latest educational resources and technologies to support their academic and professional growth.

The event was attended by Registrar Dr. Azam Khan, Director of HR Dr. Rahat Naz, Director IT Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Director of Administration Mr. Sohrab Zaman.
