KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) marked Pakistan's 77th Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony at its main campus on August 14.
Addressing the event, Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon said, “On this 77th Independence Day, we are filled with gratitude and patriotism. As an institution dedicated to training future medical professionals, we are committed to instilling in our students a deep reverence for the sacrifices that secured our nation's freedom.”
JSMU Registrar Dr. Azam Khan offered prayers for the country, wishing peace, development, and prosperity.
The event demonstrated a unified display of national pride, with JSMU faculty and staff joining together to sing the national anthem.
The event was also participated by Principal SMC-JSMU Dr. Masroor Ahmed, and the heads of various institutes and departments, along with faculty and staff.
The ceremony was organized by Director HR Dr. Rahat Naz and Director Administration Sohrab Zaman, with support from the Maintenance and Repair, IT, and Campus Security teams.
The students sang patriotic songs the day before the flag-raising, contributing to the event's festive atmosphere. The event underscored JSMU's commitment to fostering a sense of national pride and unity within its academic community.
