DNA training session for CSU officers concludes

KARACHI: The three-day training programme for the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) Officers of the Sindh Police was successfully completed by the Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory (SFDL) at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.


The training was intended to improve the CSU Officers' sample collecting, labelling & packaging, and documentation skills. 90 CSU attended the three-day training programme at the LEJ National Science Information Center. Officers. The closing ceremony was attended by Naseem Ara Panhwar, SP Crime Scene Headquarters, Karachi, ICCBS Director Acting Prof. Dr Farzana Shaheen, and SFDL In charge and Project Director Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan.

In her closing remarks, Ms Naseem Ara Panhwar complimented Prof. Dr M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences and COMSTECH Coordinator General, for conducting such beneficial training sessions for CSU. Officers' capacity building. 

In addition, he praised the modern equipment and competence of the Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory in Sindh. Prof. Farzana Shaheen complimented the international centre's organisers on their excellent training sessions. 

Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan, in charge and project director, also expressed gratitude during the occasion. Along with the training programme participants, the female police officer visited the Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory. After the ceremony, the participants got certificates from the Sindh police and ICCBS authorities.
