LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency has recently booked a doctor working at Jinnah Hospital for drugging and blackmailing female doctors and nurses.
The District Lahore police station registered a complaint against the suspect, Muhammad Abdullah Haris, at the request of a female victim.
According to the statement, Haris had been intoxicating colleagues with drugs and filming inappropriate videos. But in the victim’s case, he also blackmailed publicising said videos of her through an unknown number.
“He was forcing the victim to meet him at a private place so he could freely assault her,” the FIR read. Haris coerced the victim to meet him at a restaurant in Lahore’s Gulberg, and she agreed, though not before she informed the police about the meeting. When the suspect reached the rendezvous point, police officers disguised as civilians arrested him.
“We found two mobile phones in his possession which had more than 50 incriminating videos,” said Saba Shaukat, Sub-inspector.
Subsequently, a case was recorded against Haris under sections 20 [offences against the dignity of a natural person], 21 [violations against modesty of a natural person or minor], and 24 [cyber stalking] of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
