KOHAT: Taking notice of the death of a child injured in aerial firing, allegedly after being referred to a private hospital by a doctor at the District Headquarter Hospital KDA Kohat, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Aftab Alam Afridi Advocate, ordered action against the medic concerned.

The minister issued the order during a visit to the DHQ hospital, after discussing the matter with the medical superintendent, on the complaint of a resident of the Bahadur Kot area falling in his constituency.

He said action should be taken against the doctor who allegedly treated a patient at a private hospital instead of the government facility.

The incident involved the unfortunate death of a 7-year-old boy from Bahadur Kot village, located within the minister's constituency, due to aerial firing.

The boy and his cousin sustained injuries and were initially brought to the DHQ hospital for treatment. However, instead of providing treatment to them at the government hospital, the doctor on duty referred the patients to a private facility.

Speaking to the media, the minister pledged to ensure justice for all citizens. He warned against the dangers of aerial firing and urged people to refrain from such practices.

He urged citizens to submit their complaints in writing to relevant authorities to facilitate swift action, saying the government wanted to establish an effective system of checks and balances, promising accountability for any misconduct.

In a stern message to government officials, Mr Afridi warned against negligence and failing to adhere to professional standards. He reiterated the government's resolve to uphold justice and serve the people diligently.
