The Sindh government will build Pakistan's first medical city; a world-class medical city will be built in Gambat, where modern hospitals for specific diseases will be established.
As per the doctors' organizations, the government should focus on state-of-the-art projects and primary health care and prevention, and the neglect of primary health care is increasing patient pressure on large public hospitals.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, during his budget 23-2022 speech in Sindh Assembly, announced that the Sindh government has decided to make Pir Abdul Qadir Jilani Institute in Gambat the first medical city of Sindh, where state-of-the-art health will be available.
During his address, Chief Minister Sindh said there would be a network of more than one hospital in Medical City, where all the medical facilities, as well as the latest training in medicine, medical treatment and medical education, would be provided.
