Prof. Khawar Saeed Jamali, who was invited as the event’s Chief guest, expressed his views regarding the wrong assumptions made by people about Pakistan’s doctors, as to how they fail to fulfill their duties. If this statement was true, then how such big hospitals are operating in the country, he asked.
He further added how doctors here, despite of their dedication, don’t get the legal status they truly deserve, which in result, blocks their development and growth, due to which our healthcare professionals move abroad. He also pointed out how, when a complication occurs due to human error, hospitals here are sealed and the doctor’s reputation is exploited.
Moreover, Prof. Khawar requested the concerned authorities to formulate special packages for the doctors serving in Pakistan, to motivate fresh medical and dental graduates to continue living and working in their own country.
The graduates shared their 50 year old memories related to Dow Medical College and thanked their alma mater for making them capable enough to serve in various countries, with dignity and compassion.
Upon concluding the ceremony, Principal, Dow Medical College (DMC), Prof. Dr Kartar Dawani presented shields and ajraks to the participants.
