KARACHI: Three more doctors, including the former Director-General Health of Sindh, embraced martyrdom due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Karachi in the last 24 hours.
Former Director-General Health, Sindh, Dr Abdul Sattar Korai, embraced martyrdom after succumbing to the coronavirus. He was an ENT Specialist. The former Chief Anesthetist of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC ), Dr Tahir Ameen Choudhry, also recently passed away due to coronavirus.
Similarly, Dr Waseemuddin was also passed away owing to COVID-19. He was a Pediatrician and a lifetime member of the Pakistan Pediatric Association(PPA). He was practicing privately in the Shah Faisal Colony of Karachi.
He was admitted to the ICU of a private hospital for about a month, but unfortunately, the disease overcame all measures.
In Pakistan, a total of 164 healthcare workers have lost their lives in the war against the coronavirus throughout the country, including 138 doctors and 26 others.
At least 51 healthcare workers have died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) across the Sindh province so far, including 44 doctors and seven other medical staff. Eleven doctors embraced martyrdom during the second wave of the coronavirus in the province.
