KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the officials of health, local government and district administration of the province to take preventive measures to avoid causalities during the upcoming hot and humid weather.
He was presiding over a meeting held at the CM House to discuss measures being taken to counter the impact of heat wave that had claimed a number of lives last year. The meeting was attended, among others, by Sindh ministers Syed Murad Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, Ali Hassan Hingorjo, Principal Secretary to CM AlamuddinBullo, Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput, Secretary Health SaeedMangnijo, Commissioners of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas,Larkana,Sukkur, Administrator Karachi, KWSB managing director and representatives of Edhi and Chippa foundations.
CM urged the authorities concerned to ensure all public health facilities across the province must be equipped with all necessary equipment and there should not be any shortage of medicines.
Emphasizing the need for creating awareness among masses about the impact of heat wave, he directed the officials to widely publicize precautionary measures through print and electronic media.
Regarding AlmauddinBullo’sproposal of arranging artificial rain during the heat wave season, CM said that the idea should be discussed with the concerned departments keeping in view the environmental impact.
