LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a new emergency block at Indus Hospital, Jubilee Town, on Saturday, besides visiting its various departments, including resuscitation areas, CT scan facilities, nursing stations, information desks, and family medicine centres.
Addressing a complaint from a woman regarding police inaction, the chief minister promptly summoned the DIG of police’s investigation wing, directing an immediate resolution of her issue.
She also visited children in the emergency ward, offering prayers for their speedy recovery.
Ms Nawaz reviewed the hospital's treatment protocols and the paperless dashboard system, engaging with patients and their families to assess the quality of healthcare services at the facility.
She called for a collaborative effort to improve government hospitals in partnership with the Indus Trust and agreed on joint initiatives for paediatric heart surgeries.
Emphasising her commitment to enhancing healthcare across Punjab, the chief minister said the province would adopt best practices from Indus Hospital.
She also highlighted the success of the air ambulance service in saving lives on a daily basis.
