Karachi: Incidence of diabetes, a chronic metabolic disorder, is registering a steep rise, particularly in the lower income countries, including Pakistan, according to a press release of Sindh Institute of Urologyand Transplantation (SIUT) issued on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.
SIUT observes the day every year to create awareness among public at large. The Institute through its press release pointed out that “Pakistan is one of the seriously affected regions with an estimated prevalence of 7.1 million people suffering from diabetes".
The International Diabetes Federation with a view to creating awareness about diabetes among the people and apprising them of its dangerous disorders has earmarked Nov 14 as day dedicated to diabetes.
