Sources at Burns Centre noted that the water supply to the centre had been suspended due to a fault in the motor, landing the administration in trouble in handling emergency burn injuries patients and the sterilization of medical instruments.
This is the second time in the month that this happened. At present, there is no standby motor available in Sindh’s largest burn care institution.
The patients and their attendants are deprived of clean drinking water, while the sanitation system of the hospital has also been affected due to the suspension of water. Water scarcity has also affected routine cleanliness and other tasks at the hospital.
Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Khadim Hussain Qureshi, was not available to make any comments.
