Following the instructions of the prime minister, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched 20-member medical and rescue teams for the quake-hit Syria.
The relief delegation for Syria consists of 10 doctors from PIMS and a 10-member rescue team from CDA, while relief supplies have also been sent to Damascus along with the teams.
The supplies include 131 winter family tents and 3,966 kilograms of medicine, but the rescue team will participate in urban search and rescue operations in the affected areas of Syria.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had assured the Syrian Prime Minister of all possible support.
