PM Imran Khan takes notice of Khanewal incident

ISLAMABAD: There was an incidence of mob lynching in Khanewal in Pakistan, and Imran Khan, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said that "zero tolerance" would be exhibited to the offenders.

He indicated that police personnel who "failed in their responsibility" would be prosecuted.

As per the sources, first criminals tied the victim up, and then they pounded him with bricks. The victim claimed innocence, but the locals didn't believe him.

An anonymous source said that security personnel had arrived in the village before the stoning and had even detained the victim, but the crowd kidnapped him from the hands of the station house officer.
