This conference is a continuation of the Boosting Medical Devices Development in Pakistan conference held on September 13, 2022, at the Expo Center in Karachi, which was well attended by officials from DRAP, PPMA, HDAP, the Pharmaceutical Industry, and faculty from Engineering and Medical Universities.
The healthcare business has not always been at the forefront of technological advancement. Nonetheless, the recent COVID-19 epidemic illuminated several potentials for digital health breakthroughs, starting with a swift switch to virtual treatment. Effectively transitioning in-person healthcare sessions to a virtual environment, healthcare professionals worldwide and in Pakistan enhanced their telehealth skills almost overnight.
Prof. Dr Shahid Noor, Chairman of the Saman-e-Shifa Foundation, will deliver a thought-provoking speech on the eve of this conference. He will discuss how the development of medical devices locally with an export orientation will benefit the economy as import substitution and provide affordable and accessible health care to urban and underserved communities in Pakistan.
Digital healthcare innovators such as Tabiyat.pk of MedznMore are providing access to healthcare by combining technology and innovation to solve problems associated with modern-day pharmacies. Asad Khan, CEO of MedznMore, will deliver a keynote address on affordable and accessible health care for all communities, including underserved communities.
Prof. Dr Farhan Essa, chief executive officer of Essa Lab, and Prof. Dr Rafiq Khanani, chief executive officer of Advanced Lab, will also lecture about digital inclusion in clinical labs, from test scheduling to reporting delivery with a single click. Dr Zakiuddin Ahmed, CEO of Digital Care, will lead a fireside chat with Mr Furqan Kidwai, CEO of Dawa .pk, about the challenges and prospects of constructing a digital healthcare ecosystem in Pakistan.
Engr Naeem Khanani will lead the panel and focus on e-Pharmacy, e-Labs, e-Clinics, e-health, and e-payments.
Other noteworthy speakers will discuss Digital payments for digital health, the role of health insurance, and the contribution of TELCOs to developing the digital healthcare ecosystem. HANDS and BRDF will present two case studies on telehealth programs, each from Sindh and Balochistan.
Engr. Naeem Khanani, Conference Director and Chief Operating Officer of Easy Health Tech, will provide suggestions and closing comments as a Road map for expanding the digital healthcare ecosystem in Pakistan to provide accessible and affordable healthcare in Pakistan.
