MN Report

LARKANA - Future of around 400 male and female students of Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC), Larkana, is hanging in the balance following de-affiliation of their college by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

Earlier, the PMDC had imposed a ban on admissions to Mahar Medical College, Sukkur.

Reacting sharply over de-affiliation of BADC by the PMDC, vice chancellor of BBMU, Prof Ghulam Asghar Channa said that they reserved the right to challenge the PMDC’s decision in the court of law.

He said that the PMDC’s decision taken in haste and without issuing any prior notice tantamount to playing with the future of students.

Deploring that the PMDC took the decision at a time when Sindh government had already announced that process of admission to public sector medical colleges of the province will begin on Oct 12, Prof Channa urged the PMDC to review its decision and restore the registration of the college in the larger interest of students.
