Cambridge, Massachusetts: A recent research by Harvard University sheds light on the possible role of low intensity light in dental tissue development. The recently published research was able to cut through the clutter of trying to induce stem cells successfully to create dental tissue. The researchers found that using low power laser or LPL treatment as a minimally invasive tool can induce transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1). This in turn differentiates the host stem cells to promote tissue regeneration. In this research, the LPL was able to induce changes to produce dental tissue in vivo.

The research, scientists believe will be a breakthrough in dental tissue regeneration technology.
