LRBT organises annual fundraising golf tournament

KARACHI: Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust (LRBT) held its 5th annual fundraising golf tournament to raise funds for the treatment of blindness of underprivileged patients.

The task was conducted through its network of 19 hospitals and 63 clinics all across Pakistan.

Thirty teams comprising of professionals from financial institutions, corporates, media and business houses participated and contributed towards the mission of "No man, woman or child should go blind simply because they cannot afford the treatment". Engro Corporation was the event's title sponsor for the 5th consecutive year. There were 12 associate sponsors and eight goodwill partners who enabled us to continue our work of giving sight, transforming lives.

Dr Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan, and Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of Naval Staff, also participated in the tournament. During the closing ceremony, in his concluding remarks, Najmus Saquib Hameed, Honorary Chairman, LRBT, thanked all participants who donated & participated in making this event a success.

He also stressed that funds collected through this tournament would enable LRBT to restore the sight of 3000 underprivileged patients to become contributing members of society.

Ghias Khan, Chief Executive Officer and President, Engro Corporation, also spoke on occasion and distributed the prizes among the winners.

The tournament was won by the Chief of Naval Staff's team, whereas Jerjees Seja led the runner up team.
