The Chief Minister has directed Chief Secretary, Mumtaz Ali Shah, to carry out an exercise to give remuneration to the doctors of Sindh that is on the same level as the doctors working in the Punjab Government. Shah quoted, “Once the exercise is carried out, place it in the next cabinet so that it can be discussed and approved.”
The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government has already carried out such an exercise and the Punjab cabinet has approved it. Therefore, we need to ensure that our doctors get remuneration packages similar to doctors in Punjab, he told the Chief Secretary.
The Chief Secretary has sent the instruction of the Chief Minister to the Health Department to calculate the pay and allowances of doctors in Sindh and compare them with the salaries and perks of doctors in Punjab as well as other provinces and submit a detailed report along with its financial impact for the next cabinet meeting.
