Karachi: Provincial Minister for Health and Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Tuesday said that 194, 114 children were administered polio drops on the first day of the ongoing polio campaign in 86 Union Councils (UCs) of Karachi, while a total of 654, 268 children would be given polio drops during the three-day drive.
The Minister claimed that 30 percent target was achieved on the first day of the Polio drive in Karachi. He said that the Polio campaign is in full swing, has not met any hindrances, and adequate security has been provided to polio teams. The cooperation of the civil society was also sought in this regard. He requested parents to administer polio drops to their children.
Jam Mehtab while taking notice of the absence of a senior pathologist in Civil Hospital Sukkur, has directed Secretary Health to immediately assign a pathologist at the Hospital. He also directed the administration of Civil Hospital Sukkur to ensure provisions of medicines for the patients, and that each patient must be taken care of and treated properly.
On the directives of Minister for Health, the Secretary Health Iqbal Durrani has appointed 20-grade officer Senior Pathologist Dr Tariq Dureshani at the Civil Hospital Sukkur.
