KARACHI: The Sindh Health Care Commission is organizing a consultative meeting of regulatory authorities on June 18th, 2019, in Karachi to devise a comprehensive strategy to improve health services delivery standards and eliminate quackery from Pakistan.
The representatives of the Punjab Health Care Commission, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, Pakistan Council for Nursing, National Council for Homoeopathy, Pakistan Medical And Dental Council, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, and other regulatory bodies are set to participate in this mega consultative meeting.
Chief Executive Officer, SHCC, Dr Minhaj Qidwai, said the SHCC had taken this step to provide a single platform for experts from all regulatory bodies to come up with new ideas to resolve the long-standing health problems. This meeting will help national policymakers to devise new strategies to deal with national health issues in the future.
He informed that the aim of holding the consultative meeting is to build a partnership of regulatory bodies, eliminate the menace of quackery through the new anti-quackery strategy, capacity building of healthcare providers, provision of quality health services in Pakistan, and others.
Dr Minhaj Qidwai said an inter-provincial committee would also be formed after the consultative meeting to implement recommendations presented by experts to resolve all health-related problems.
