KARACHI: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has strongly condemned the brutal attack on Zawad Ahmed, IT in-charge at Civil Hospital Karachi, who sustained serious injuries after being shot seven times. This tragic incident highlights the alarming rise in violence against healthcare workers in Pakistan.
YDA has urged the Sindh Government to register an FIR and ensure a swift and transparent investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. They also called for immediate measures to enhance security at medical institutions to protect healthcare staff, enabling them to serve without fear for their lives or property.
"Our hospital staff work tirelessly to serve the public, and threats to their safety are unacceptable," said the YDA. The association expressed full solidarity with Zawad Ahmed and his family, extending prayers for his speedy recovery.
This attack is a stark reminder of the urgent need for better security protocols in healthcare facilities across the province.
