Police launches investigation as newborn baby abducted from Nishtar Hospital

MULTAN: An unknown woman abducted a two-day-old newborn from Nishtar Hospital, leaving the community and authorities in distress. The incident occurred in Ward 16 of the hospital, and CCTV footage capturing the woman fleeing with the child has been obtained by law enforcement agencies.
According to details, the baby boy was born to Sattar, a resident of Kabirwala, just a day prior to the abduction. The father reported that the unidentified woman approached him to congratulate him on the birth of his son. Gaining his trust, she picked up the child, showing affection, and claimed she would take the baby to the ward's entrance to show her husband. However, she used the opportunity to escape with the newborn.
The CCTV footage reveals the woman carrying the baby and exiting the ward. Authorities are utilizing the footage as part of their ongoing investigation to locate the child and apprehend the suspect.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered at Cantt Police Station based on the father's complaint. The Multan police have formed a special team to investigate the matter, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, raising questions about hospital security protocols and the need for stricter measures to ensure patient safety.
