KARACHI - Two of the total four elevators of National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease (NICVD) have gone out of order, causing immense difficulties to patients visiting the health facility.
An official of NICVD said that there are four elevators in the hospital, but two of them are currently not working due to some technical fault.
During a visit to the hospital, this correspondent witnessed that volunteers and attendants were facing difficulties in shifting patients from emergency department to different wards of NICVD’s six-story building through staircase.
Meanwhile, patients and their attendants have appealed to the hospital’s administration to get the elevators repaired as soon as possible.
The NICVD’s chief operating officer Azra Maqsood, when contacted, said that technicians were already busy in rectifying faults of both the elevators and they will be made operational shortly.
