The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has strongly condemned the lathi-charge and arrests of peaceful protesting doctors and paramedics in Karachi.
The president of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association Karachi, Prof Abdullah Muttaqi, has said in a statement issued from PIMA House Karachi that young doctors were protesting for the restoration of health risk allowance. Still, the government has resorted to using force instead of solving the issue.
He demanded that the government resolve the issue through dialogue instead of force. Poor patients are the most affected due to OPDs and routine operations in government hospitals being shut down due to the protests, so the government should negotiate with doctors.
It should be done so that the matter can be resolved better and the serious problems faced by the patients due to this protest will end.
