ISLAMABAD: The Health Expert Committee of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has permitted the Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines for immunization in children above 12 starting November 15th.

The NCOC, in a tweet, said the Chinese origin vaccines would be available subsequently with the Pfizer vaccine for children above 12 years of age to combat COVID-19.

Earlier, Dr Faisal Sultan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, had announced that minors would have to be fully immunized against the coronavirus to attend schooling again. The NCOC then revised its Covid-19 protocols to include children below the age of 18 immunized with the Pfizer vaccine.

Adolescents below the age of 18 need their B-form number to register in the National Immunisation Management System, the NCOC informed.
