SINDH: An exclusive meeting took place between Abrar Ahmed Jaffar, Deputy Commissioner, District Shaheed Benazir Abad (SBA), and Kashif Shamim Siddiqui, a renowned poet, columnist, and district coordination officer of the Accelerated Action Plan (AAP) to discuss the issue of severe malnutrition in underprivileged mothers and children.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that poverty is an indispensable element of malnutrition-related complications in deprived communities. Although NGOs are playing their part in addressing such issues but continued efforts on a long-term basis are required. Programs or projects will only leave a positive impact if a large number of women from poverty-stricken communities are addressed at a superlative level.
Kashif Siddiqui, sharing his thoughts, said that the AAP project is striving for the poor communities so that they can overcome nutrition deficiencies. "I am extremely thankful to all national and international organizations that are associated with the program and supporting it. The role of the UNICEF is highly commendable," Siddiqui noted.
