Drap recalls Cadlec 30mg/ml shots over safety concerns

ISLAMABAD: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) has issued a recall for Cadlec 30mg/ml injections following complaints about the product.
According to Drap, administering products containing particulate matter can block blood vessels, causing local irritation, swelling, tissue inflammation, blood clots, lung tissue scarring, and potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.
Following Drap's direction, the manufacturer has initiated the recall of all affected batches from the market.
Drap has instructed all pharmacists and chemists at distribution centers and pharmacies to immediately check their stocks and stop supplying this product.
Remaining stock should be quarantined and returned to the supplier or company, the authority ordered.
Drap, along with provincial health departments, has increased market surveillance to ensure the effective recall of defective product(s).
It also directed the officials concerned that any adverse reactions or quality problems experienced with this product should be reported to the National Pharmacovigilance Centre (NPC), using the Adverse Event Reporting Form or online through the provided link.
