KARACHI- Diarrhoea cases among children are on the rise in the city due to hot and humid climate, said renowned pediatrician Dr Khalid Zubairi.
Contaminated water, poor sanitation condition, unhygienic food and decayed fruits are the major causes of water-borne diseases, especially diarrhea, he cautioned.
“In fact, children between six months and two years of age are most vulnerable to diarrhea,” he added.
He advised parents to use boiled water, cover water-pots and ensure hygienic conditions at homes to prevent their children from diarrhoea.
He also urged parents to avoid giving confectionary items to their children in summer season.
Highlighting the importance of personal hygiene, he said that children could be saved from different diseases by taking preventative measures.
