HEC nod to JSMU PhD programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences

KARACHI: The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (IPS-JSMU) at Jinnah Sindh Medical University has received approval from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to launch Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacy Practice.
"It is an achievement to receive HEC's approval to launch these new PhD programs at JSMU as we continue to elevate our status as a leading institution for advanced pharmaceutical education and research," said JSMU Vice Chancellor Prof Siraj Memon. 
"These new PhD programs will empower our faculty and students to push the boundaries of knowledge and make significant contributions to the field of pharmaceutical sciences," Prof Memon added.
IPS Principal Dr. Huma Ali said, "The launch of these PhD programs at IPS-JSMU is a milestone that will further strengthen our reputation as a center of excellence in pharmaceutical education and research. We are excited to provide our students with the opportunity to pursue cutting-edge research and contribute to the advancement of the pharmaceutical field."
The approved faculty members for the respective PhD programs are: Dr. Humaira Siddiqui, Dr. Noor-ul-Ain, Dr. Samiullah Burki, and Dr. Shafaque Mehboob Khan (Pharmacology). Dr. Huma Ali, Dr. Shaheen Perveen, Dr. Yousra Shafiq, and Dr. Fozia Israr (Pharmaceutics). Dr. Huma Shareef, Dr. Shahlla Imam, Dr. Bushra Hina, and Dr. Sumira Ishaq (Pharmacognosy). Dr. Sdaf Naeem, Dr. Sakina Fatima, and Dr. Hina Rehman (Pharmacy Practice). 
JSMU will inform the HEC Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of any changes in the faculty for these PhD programs.
