IUB gets PNMC nod to launch MS Nursing classes

BAHAWALPUR: The University College of Nursing, Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), has been allowed by the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) to launch MS Nursing classes. 

Initially, the PNMC has sanctioned 20 seats for the MS Nursing programme, with prior approval from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for the IUB.

IUB Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar congratulated Prof Dr. Rao Saeed Ahmed, Dean Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Dr Farhan Mukhtar, Principal University College of Nursing, and the students for this achievement.

Terming the launch of MS Nursing a great success for the university, Dr Akhtar thanked the HEC chairman and the PNMC for their support in this regard.

He said the IUB Nursing College was equipped with modern facilities and qualified faculty to offer nursing education of international standard.

The college currently awards a graduate degree in BS Nursing and has now attained a distinctive status in Pakistan by introducing MPhil classes, making the IUB the only general sector institution producing trained manpower in the field of nursing, addressing the demand for graduate nursing professionals both in Pakistan and globally.
