Extremist group attacks polio team

TANK: Gunmen ambushed and killed a safety officer deployed to safeguard a polio vaccination team in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

According to Sajjad Ahmed, District Police Officer, Tank, the armed individuals fled the area, and a police search operation is ongoing to trace them.

District Health Officer informed the news source that the bodies of the slain security personnel and the injured were being taken to the hospital.

The proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), on the other hand, asserted that its militants targeted the polio team in Tank.
