KARACHI: The windscreen of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight heading for Jeddah cracked mid-flight, forcing an emergency landing at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport.

Minutes after takeoff, the aeroplane heading for Jeddah from Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport had a mid-air windscreen fracture due to low oxygen pressure.

Flight 759's captain called the control tower and requested an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport as soon as possible.

For now, the hangar is the only place where the damaged plane will be repaired. According to a PIA representative, an alternate flight will be scheduled for their arrival in Jeddah.
