LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique unveiled plans to automate the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) during the 28th meeting of its monitoring authority.
Chairing the meeting at the Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, the minister reiterated the government's commitment to improve PHOTA's capabilities and crack down on illegal organ transplantation activities.
The meeting witnessed approval for the minutes of the previous session, the annual calendar, and the formation of various committees aimed at streamlining PHOTA's operations.
Moreover, in a bid to facilitate the public, PHOTA offices are set to be inaugurated in Sialkot and Bahawalpur.
The meeting commenced with prayers for the mother of Dean Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute, Dr. Faisal Saud Dar, and was attended by members of the monitoring authority, including officials from various departments and medical associations.
