MURREE: During a recent visit to Murree's Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz snubbed the hospital administration over long queues of patients and ordered immediate improvement in the Outpatient Department (OPD) system there.

Conducting a comprehensive inspection of various hospital departments, she expressed dissatisfaction with the lengthy queues of patients in the OPD. "Fix the hospital system; patients are suffering," she said, stressing the need for swift action to prevent further loss of lives.

Interacting with women waiting in the queues, Ms Nawaz inquired about any issues they were facing and assured them of prompt resolution.

She proceeded to inspect medical facilities and personally interacted with patients undergoing treatment in the OPD, enquiring after a sick mother and her daughter, and issuing directives for their optimal care.

In the emergency ward, the chief minister offered prayers for the speedy recovery of patients and ordered enhanced patient care protocols to be implemented. She also engaged with patients' attendants to assess the provision of free medications and medical testing facilities offered by the hospital.

Ms Nawaz also visited the Palliative Care Unit (PCU) center, thoroughly reviewing facilities in the medical and gynecology wards, as well as the children's nursery.
