ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police arrested more than a dozen political workers inside Parliament Lodges, acting on the command of Deputy Inspector General of Police (operations).

The DIG directed staff to evacuate media workers from the building as they made their way to Salahuddin Ayubi's National Assembly room on the fourth floor.

Shortly afterwards, a struggle erupted between Ayubi's crew and police officers. Numerous PPP and PML-N legislators were also present in the lodges at the time, as was Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Khawaja Saad Rafique, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), was hurt when his foot slammed with the lodge's door during a struggle between police and Ayubi's crew.

Rafique told journalists that Ayaz Sadiq was attending a meeting in the lodges at the time of the incident.
